Angela's Grandmother

She was nice. She was kind. She was there.
Angela never had a father. Well, she supposed she had one once, she had taken a class or two that proved otherwise. However, she didn't have one now. That's all she knew.

She and her mother had tried to cope for fourteen years, living on whatever they could. They lived in conditions that matched an attic in what Angela described "a normal person's house."
The only relief she had from all the angst was her grandmother.

for the smallest soundover the small sounds of the clocks in your room we named the seconds with burning memories i was amazed that they still lived on, that they could see how they hurt us but still keep going.

So my interview yesterday went amazing...
the woman's just like, "...so OK, technically we have 4 more interviews, but I really really like you, so we've now filled one of the four positions, with the other 5 people for the other 3. I warn you, orientation will be boring, but you'll be a wonderful new member of the family."

Kinda optimistic, doubtless.

Otherwise, I'm doing OK. My book was awesome, but now I want the next one. It's out, but I've yet to be able to buy it. Sarah's being really funny recently, she's so hilarious, this just kinda allthetime cynical but secret optimism about the years...from about 17 to 22?
We're in quite interesting times, fellow peers.

And I think it's high time for peach cobbler now. Summertime is when friends and family make such wonderful desserts...
